What's Up

1 min read
It's late June, and it's been awhile since my last story. It doesn't mean I'm not writing, I'm writing very slowly, but it's not the same pace, not even close. I'm still around on Discord, but I'm usually just up for little spurts of this stuff.

So is it time to move on? Nah...not yet. But I'm trying to use my time differently, and I have already done that this summer - finally getting my black belt after a decade of hard work, working on my second cosplay (this one from scratch!), writing for a local paper, so forth. I've been working on stories here for about ten minutes or so a day, so it'll eventually turn into something. But I don't know when.

Well, hello there. I know I haven't been too active, so let me get you up to date with what's going on.

First off, am I going to continue writing TG? The answer is probably. I'm still moderately interested in writing TG, though I am starting to tire a little bit. But also, things have gotten super busy at home, and I'm headed off to college in a couple of weeks, which will mean I'm leaving home for the very first time. I have to focus elsewhere, both on academics and extracurriculars, and have no idea how much spare time I'll have - and to be honest, when I do get spare time, I don't know how much of it will be spent writing TG here. I'm more interested in spending time blogging and playing games nowadays.

If I ever decide to stop, I'll let you all know and release all the unfinished bits I've got in my sta.sh. Again, I don't know how often I'll be able and willing to write here, but as of right now, I'll probably at least crank a couple of stories out every once in awhile. That's all from me, I'll see you with my next story, which should hopefully be in a couple of days.

This is a little something to keep you guys entertained while I wait to release my next story. It's done, however the commissioner is away, and I prefer to have my stories' commissioners be around when I release their stories.

More often then not, my characters have little inside jokes or puns in their names. Sometimes they're just close to the name of the girl who they'll soon be turning into, and sometimes there's something more. So, I'm going to go through all the stories I've written since my Natalia TG and list off the relevance of my characters' names. By the way, if you'd like to go check out the stories, I've made their titles hyperlinks, so you'll be brought to them by clicking their titles.

Finish The Promise (Natalia TG TF): Jonathan Luchs to Natalia Luzu Kimlasca-Lanvaldear from Tales Of the Abyss. My first story in my new format, and one I'm proud of. Jonathan is a random name I chose, and Luchs is from lux, which is Latin for light.

The World's Awakening (Clorica TG TF): Carroll Volk to Clorica from Rune Factory 4. This story isn't my best, but it's my personal favorite out of those I've written. Carroll is a name I chose because it's similar to Clorica, and Volk is a play on Volkanon, another one of the butler characters in the game. As for the other named character, Wesley Joremby, I chose his first name randomly. His last name is a fusion of Rem, Ruby, and Jory. Three guesses who that's a reference to. (It's :icontg-vocalz:)
Fun fact: The World's Awakening was originally called "Bestowed Blessing", though I changed it to give the title more relevance (Clorica's a sleepyhead).

Frenzied Soul (Hikage TG TF): Kellyn Long to Hikage from Senran Kagura. This was my first commission after my return. Kellyn Long and Kate Jones were the named characters in this story, which was commissioned by TG Vocals. For some reason, when I was choosing names, I had Pokémon Ranger on the mind, because Kellyn and Kate are the default names of the protagonists in the second game, Shadows of Almia. Long and Jones are just generic last names.

The Middle Of July (Yang Xiao Long TG TF): Reese Cartier to Yang Xiao Long from RWBY. Another commission by TG Vocals, and in my opinion the best story I've written on DeviantArt. Reese was a generic first name that flows off the tongue well, and it works for both genders too. Cartier was chosen to give the name "Jean Cartier" a bit of a pun (Jaune Arc). Rachel was picked because it's a name that I personally associate with kind and gentle people, not sure why. I have no idea where I got Crystal out of.
Fun fact: The model mentioned towards the story's end, R.R. Langenheim, is also a pun. R.R. Langenheim's full name is Ruby Rose Langenheim, and she usually performs under the name Ruby Rose (she's been using the name since well before RWBY was even drafted).

First Dance (Ninian TG TF): Michael Wendell to Ninian from Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword. This story came about from an RP I was doing with :iconkaiza-tg: that was so good that I asked him if I could turn it into a story. He said sure, and I did just that. I have no idea where the name Michael Wendell came from and what relevance, if any, it had.

Service With A Smile (Flora TG TF): Jay Skye to Flora from Fire Emblem Fates. This was a commission by :iconaabcehm:, and is a short story, but still one I think turned out excellently. I was asked to do a TG of either Felicia or Flora from Fire Emblem Fates, and chose Flora. I wasn't quite sure what to do in terms of a plot at first...

Enter :iconjayronzski:, who wasn't in a good mood after a shift (he works as a restaurant) and was wishing there was a way to become a bubbly waitress or the like. I had my plot. Jay Skye was the name chosen by Jayronzski, as was the name of the resulting girl, Jasmine.

Black Night (Blake Belladonna TG TF): Nicolas Gikoken to Blake Belladonna from RWBY. A followup done on popular demand. This character's name is a little weird, but in short, unscramble Gikoken and you'll get neko. There's also another reference in there...but I'm gonna keep what it is to myself, hehe.

Last Dance (Olivia TG TF): Peter Blankenship to Olivia from Fire Emblem Awakening. Another aabcehm commission, and kind of a mix between my old hyper-realistic stories and my current ones, though despite some early concerns it turned out excellently. Peter was the name aabcehm told me to use, and Blankenship was made up for the story. Simple, straightforward.
Fun fact: The bit about the karting accident is a reference to my Charlotte TG, also commissioned by aabcehm.

Flower Patch (Elise TG TF): Maxwell Merstaff to Elise from Fire Emblem Fates. This was the result of an RP with :iconmsflurker: that went very well. Maxwell comes from the fact that the name we all like to call msflurker is Max (I don't believe his actual name is Max, but that's a story for another day), and Merstaff is both a corruption of MSF, the first three letters in his handle, and a pun involving Elise's main weapon, a staff.

Inner Reflection (Weiss Schnee TG TF): Trevor Glass to Weiss Schnee from RWBY. I still have no idea if I will continue the series, though if I do it will likely be in October or so. In any case, Trevor is a generic name, and Glass comes from the mirror motif that Weiss has. As for the other characters, the character Rachel from the Yang TG receives a last name, Prescott. Again, this is a generic name, as is Ryan Groundwater (okay, people don't normally have the last name Groundwater, but I'd recently heard it in I think a documentary on something, and it stuck with me for whatever reason). I did recently realize an inadvertent reference with Ryan's last name...but I'm going to keep it to myself, because it's a plot point.
Fun fact: Inner Reflection was originally called "Reflection", but I changed it after realizing that I have another story with that name (that being my first TG ever).

The Successor (Ruby Rose TG TF): Daniel Jore-Ginte to Ruby Rose from RWBY. This one's short, but I suppose Ruby herself is short too. Daniel is a generic name, "Jore" is a reference to, guess who, TGVocals, and Ginte comes from gin, the Japanese word for silver, the color of Ruby's eyes.

Final Burst (Hibari TG TF): Honoka Matsukio to Hibari from Senran Kagura. A very cute story with a plot that, looking back, was pretty interesting at the time. Honoka was the name I was asked to use by the commissioner, :iconkireizaki:, and Matsukio was a fictitious name I attached to the end. I don't believe it is a real last name. As for Anne Purewillow, her last name comes from her hair color, white.

Sacred Art (Margaret TG TF): Emil Ivoire to Margaret from Rune Factory 4. This one was weird. I couldn't think of a name and decided to look around to see if anyone in the community wanted to be the subject of what was in retrospect a very strange story. Enter :iconlord-enemil:. He usually goes just by Enemil, but I like to add last names on to my characters, and he and I chose Ivoire. When it came time to insert him however, I messed up and accidentally called him Emil. It stuck, but I made sure when he commissioned me that it didn't reoccur. The name Emily, by the way, was chosen by Enemil himself.

Violent Storm (Fjorm TG TF): Robert Valefous to Fjorm from Fire Emblem Heroes. This story was the result of an RP that went very well. The plot attached to it really reminds me of my old hyper-realistic stories (read them at your own risk), but the TF itself was one of my best. In any case, I again needed someone to use as the main character, and chose another good friend of mine, :iconsephy90:. Robert's his first name, and he chose both his last name in the story, Valefous, and his name as a female, Rose.

Readied Stance (Mai Natsume TG TF): Matt Hastings into Mai Natsume from BlazBlue: CentralFiction. A fantastic commission for :icondrive22:, one of the best stories I have written here. The naming process was very simple, Matt to Mai, Hastings to Hazuki (Mai's real last name...oh I do hope that's not a spoiler).

Triage (Amina TG TF): Aaron Codazur to Amina from Terra Battle. This was both a story written to cope with the then-recent loss of my aunt and a sort of acknowledgement of what the doctors who had done their best to keep her alive endured. Creating a world where pain is either absent or easily cured is a good way of dealing with grief.

Oh right, the name. Aaron was chosen because it's close-ish to Amina (though there are more similar male names, such as Amon), and Codazur is a reference to a hospital's Code Blue. Kelly and Chris are generic names.

Alchemy's Fall (Megumin TG TF): Mark Cadosch to Megumin from Konosuba. Another commission by TGVocals, this one has the transformation early on for a change. Both names, Mark Cadosch and Renee Cartwright, were randomly chosen. Not much more to say.

Where Wishes Come True (Kanata Izumi TG TF): Enemil Ivoire to Kanata Izumi from Lucky Star. Commissioned by Lord-Enemil, who prefers having himself inserted into his own commissions. This was a tough story to finish, and I actually had to redo the ending. There is no need to explain the name choice due to, well, the fact that Enemil prefers he be inserted.

Star Ordeal (Mythra TG TF): Lawrence King to Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Another TGVocals commission, this one delves a little bit into humiliation, though not too much. Lawrence was chosen because I could then have the character be nicknamed Lory, which is, off course, just a bit off of Jory, TGVocals' name. Whitney was chosen because it's similar to 'white', the color of Mythra's outfit.

Masking Identity (Vert Skinsuit TG TF): Luke Vanron-White to Vert from Hyperdimension Neptunia. I'd always wanted to do a skinsuit story simply to see what the hoopla was, and :iconwarmedwolf: offered to commission one. The end product was apparently a mix of skinsuit and kigurumi and hence a little unconventional, but I had a good time writing it. The name Luke was suggested by :iconbeautyface132:, who provided plot assistance, and I'm not sure where White came from. But here's the interesting bit. Partway through the story, out of curiousity, I decided to see if there were any Vert kigurumi cosplayers out there. Sure enough, there was, one by the name of :iconvanron:. So I decided to insert a little reference to her. Guess who ended up finding my story after being linked it by warmedwolf?

2 + 2 Is Ninjitsu (Shinobu TG TF): Enemil Ivoire to Shinobu from Ninja Nonsense. OH MY GOD SHINOBU IS SO CUTE...*ahem* This was another commission by Lord-Enemil. Not much more to say here either. The story name, by the way, is a reference to the Japanese name of the series, 2 x 2 = Shinobuden.
Note: This story's original name was "Two And Two", but I changed it after realizing that that sort of name wasn't indicative of the story enough.

[CONTEST ENTRY] Life's A Beach (Corrin TG TF): Nathan Jackson to Corrin (Summer) from Fire Emblem Fates/Heroes. This was an entry into a contest by :iconseasofgold:. Nathan Jackson was a generic name.

Well, that's the end of that. Again, I am currently waiting for my most recent story's commissioner to return from vacation. Until then, I hope you found this interesting and I'll hopefully see you shortly!

Kogaracon

2 min read
On April 21, I attended my third con and second in cosplay, Kogaracon.

The con was pretty ramshackle, and had a sort of flea market vibe. It had all the things you'd want, art dealers, suppliers, that fun stuff, but signs were not very informative (some were handwritten), there were too few staff, and, because it was free to enter, there was very little effort to track attendees. It seemed like the con, while well planned, was only physically set up in a night, which, being as it was at an active college campus that was still holding classes in other buildings, it probably was. In fact, they only really started giving out armbands as a way to keep count at the con's halfway mark. Even still, as stated, it had the facilities you'd hope for, such as a photo booth, art dealers, games, karaoke, a contest, and (surprisingly good) food, and the staff were helpful and they tried their best to please. So all in all the con was fun, but it was apparent that they'd really rushed to set it up.

Laslow, or as my friends call him Laslawl, was very well received, and I got stopped for probably a dozen or so photos. Speaking of photos, this is what was taken in the booth by the guys from Team Lens Flare!

Let's Get Started (Laslow Cosplay) by Seibara

Not sure what con is next. I'm gonna be busy for the next couple of weekends, though I will be attending at the very least one more convention this year in the fall.

Well, with my three year anniversary having come and gone, it's time to reflect a bit on everything I've written. I'll be out of town this weekend and in a hotel room, so I should be able to get something done.

Before this, I suppose I should go over where I got my interest in TG. When I was nine or ten, entering a fictional world was my dream. I fantasized about briefly entering fictional worlds in my own unique form befitting that world, though I would always return in the end. Henceforth, by writing TG, I got to reflect back on the innocence and joy of my youth and do the same thing I once loved...just with the characters I like today, who for the most part are girls. My earlier stories were often extremely realistic, mostly because I am studying to work in communications, so the gritty real life scenarios of the communications field tended to intrude into my stories a lot.

After some time though I developed an actual kink for TG. This was around when I did away with the complex stories that were hyper realistic from start to end and switched to the more uplifting style of story, though the hyper realism makes itself known from time to time. After this it was less about making new worlds and more writing a compelling story with a conflict and some form of resolution.

I believe that every story should have a resolution. It doesn't have to be a positive one, it can even be a cliffhanger, but, at least in my eyes, it should not be a Sopranos cut to black. That's why I always give the characters in TGs something to do.

Now then, it's time to look back a bit and see what I find to be my best accomplishments. I'm not trying to come off as high and mighty here, let me preface with that. I still have a ways to go. I'd just like to show you guys what I'm most proud of.

Favorite Personal TF

This one was no contest.

The World's Awakening (Clorica TG TF)
    "Oh?...Uhm, I'm sorry?..."
It's tough being a servant. Between the strict hours, unfallible mannerisms, and laborious work, the job of a butler or maid is most certainly not easy. And if that maid or butler lives at their place of employment, well...
"Carroll!" Carroll Volk jumped. He'd zoned out for a few seconds. His employer and master, Wesley, was getting annoyed with him yet again, and Carroll was starting to become concerned about what Wesley thought of him and his usefulness. Surely he wouldn't be kicked to the curb, right?...R-right?
Carroll had been a butler for a couple of years. He didn't remember his parents, who had both died when he was young, and he barely remembered his time bouncing between state homes. He'd shown subservience and listening skills akin to a butler's during his time at the state homes, and had been noticed by Wesley Joremby, a rich man in his mid twenties (inheritance can do a lot) who frequently d

Clorica, a female butler (despite being a girl, she's called a butler in the game, and since the game is well translated I'd see no reason to think it was a mistranslation) from the 3DS sandbox-action RPG Rune Factory 4, is one of the cutest characters I have ever seen in a video game, so a TF involving her was a no brainer. She has a very cute design, her voice actress, Heather Hogan Watson, did an incredible job in making her sound her character archetype (she's a sleepyhead), and all in all she is alluring.

Transforming Carroll into Clorica wasn't easy. Her outfit is very complex, especially that suit extension at the waistline, I still have no idea what to call that thing. But it was in the end an excellent TF with a great conclusion.

The real reason I love this story, however, is the fact that it inspired a new writer. :iconkireizaki: had by her own admission (and forgive me if my memory is a little fuzzy) used her enjoyment of the Clorica story to work up the courage to commission a story for the first time, which eventually led to her starting to write TFs alongside her partner, :iconkinozaki:. The fact that this story directly caused one and possibly indirectly caused to start writing their own stories is amazing. That's why I love the story.

Favorite Transformation

It depends on what you mean by favorite, most detailed or the one I most enjoyed. For the former, it would definitely be this one.

Violent Storm (Fjorm TG TF)
"I'm not sure if I'll make it out of here alive..."
Antarctica is a dead, deserted land where very few flora and fauna survive and humans are rare to come across. Even in summer, only about four thousand people ever inhabit the continent, and there are no permanent inhabitants. Everyone stays a few months at most before heading home.
About a third of Antarctic residents live at an unnamed research station on the Ross Ice Shelf. In a land where temperatures above freezing are a luxury at best, staying warm is a major concern. Thankfully, the research station is very high tech, but when one heads outside, it's a different story.
Robert Valefous was one of these lucky few to inhabit the station. He was a newcomer to the station, having only been there six weeks. He was a quarter way through his six month stint in the station, and he was looking forward to leaving already. After all, this place wasn't where he wanted to be...he wanted t

Fjorm is a character from Fire Emblem Heroes. She is voiced by, ironically enough, Heather Hogan Watson.

I did the Fjorm transformation in a roleplay session with :iconmsflurker:, and built a story around it. The story itself to the Fjorm TG reads like an afterthought (because it was), but the transformation itself is in my eyes at least one of the most detailed I've ever seen and definitely the most detailed I've ever written. Funnily enough, I actually wrote most of the transformation on my phone. Never doing that again.

As for what I most enjoyed writing...that would be a very tough call. However, I'm going to have to go with...

The Middle Of July (Yang Xiao Long TG TF)
    "Oh, you can't be serious!"
"Piss off already, you piece of trash! You're nothing!"
"I’m not nothing! I can be just as tough as you!"
June August Memorial High School was as bustling as ever. Between the teenage lovers boning in the halls, the kids with anger issues kicking the everloving hell out of the vending machine, and the overzealous study group already preparing for finals despite it being February, it was a typical school with a typical student body. And of course, that means there are jocks.
For Reese Cartier, a short and somewhat lanky 17-year-old who had moved to the area at the start of the new year, jocks were an everyday sighting. They had been back at his old school, so their verbal assaults were nothing new.
Reese sighed as the bus pulled into the loading area to drop them off. He threw his bag on his shoulders and stepped off.
"Another day, another-" Reese was suddenly cu

Honestly the entire Yang TG that :icontg-vocalz: commissioned was a blast to write. It had a great standalone storyline and also set up to a future saga very well, and the TF, while a little unconventional in that it wasn't felt, was detailed and got everything down perfectly.

Favorite Reaction

Hmm...I would not call it my favorite due to the circumstances as they are actually pretty serious, but the most realistic reaction for sure would again be the Yang TG. In it, the character, Reese, finds he has been transformed while taking a shower at home. He screams, alerting his parents, who believe there to be an intruder. As a just in case, his father grabs a pistol, and when he enters the bathroom, he points it at Reese.

I made sure to make it so the father only levels the pistol when he spots Reese as to avert the infamous "shoot first and ask questions later" stereotype, being as I know everyone has a different view on guns. I didn't want him brandishing the pistol as he entered, but I also wanted to make this as realistic as possible, or at least as realistic as a story where a pill makes a guy turn into a fictional female can be. After all, in their mind, there is an intruder. Wouldn't you also want to protect your home in whatever way you could?...Heh, I guess the hyper realism that ruled my earlier stories still has more of an effect than I thought.

Oh yeah, and will I ever be finishing Schism Remnant?...Maybe. I honestly don't know.

Well, that's the end of that. It's been a fun couple years, and I don't plan on stopping anytime too soon. I'll see you guys with my next story. Take care now!
